“When the wedding we planned became impossible, we turned to God. We prayed, asking whether to postpone a year, elope in the woods, or go to a court house.  The latter was not an option. Neither was the former. As we prayed, a simple image crystalized:

Immediate family.  A beach from childhood. A backyard. Sister-strung decorations.

On the day of the wedding, God smiled – calming the waters, opening the sun onto the beach. We let go of the coordinated moves, and instead, danced – for the first time as husband & wife.”
